Program Description

The Elementary Education Program at Athens State University, leading to a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.) degree with a major in Elementary Education, is designed to prepare educators to deliver developmentally appropriate instruction to young children in kindergarten through sixth grade. The degree prepares educators for public, private, church, and school settings. This program provides pre-service training in preparation for the class “B” certificate.

About the School

The College of Education offers 7 undergraduate teacher certification programs in addition to several secondary certification options. It has long had a proud tradition of serving as one of Alabama’s leading teacher education colleges.
