About the School
The Department of Communication is the hub of student media and communication culture at Bellarmine University. Our courses blend class work with hands-on application and field experiences to teach students about new communication technologies as well as the many facets of human communication: interpersonal, intercultural, mediated, and group.
In addition to offering a rich and exciting curriculum inside the classroom, the Department of Communication is home to Bellarmine Radio, The Concord newspaper, The Lance yearbook, a media production suite, and a lively sports-broadcasting YouTube channel that covers BU athletics.
The Department of Communication also takes advantage of Louisville’s business, journalism, and communication landscape to bring in exciting guest speakers from across the industry. Our students enjoy many opportunities for active learning, whether in a Mac lab, a production suite, or on location at one of many top internship sites. If you want to study in an industry that never sleeps, then find your passion in Bellarmine’s Department of Communication!
