Program Description

Why choose the Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics Engineering Technology and Automation (META)?

CPTC’s Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics Engineering Technology and Automation (BAS-META) degree is the first Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics to be offered anywhere in the Pacific NW. Mechatronics focuses on the convergence of mechanical, electrical, and computer controls in complex systems and automation.

The BAS-META builds upon associate degree coursework by adding additional engineering math and physics, as well as hands-on work with cutting edge industrial technology and practices such as IIOT, Digital Twins, Sustainable Manufacturing, and Data Analytics.

The BAS-META degree has been designed to meet the needs of students who want to become: Automation engineers, Applications Engineers, Robotic Integrators, PLC Programmers, and a host of other engineering technology-related job titles.
