Bachelor of Science Program in Dental Hygiene

The Admissions Office at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry is participating in the ADEA Dental Hygiene Centralized Application Service, known as DHCAS. Dental Hygiene is an undergraduate program in the School of Dentistry, that is largely focused on preventive oral health services and continuing care. The purpose of the program is to develop professionals prepared for the current practice of dental hygiene and future changes in dentistry. The hygienist works in association with the dentist in private–practice offices, industrial organizations, schools, hospitals, local, state or federal public health services, and the armed forces.

Since 1953, the School of Dentistry has graduated competent and compassionate oral health care professionals who contribute to the Loma Linda University Health mission of providing their patients “whole person” care.

The school offers the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree; bachelor of science in dental hygiene; and master of science degrees and certification in advanced dental education programs for endodontics, implant dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, paediatric dentistry, periodontics, and prosthodontics. In addition, an International Dentist program gives dentists who have been trained in other countries an opportunity to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Loma Linda University.

In harmony with the University's focus on service, the School of Dentistry sponsors many extramural programs and conducts continuing education courses worldwide.
