Practical Nursing

The Arkansas State Board approves Southern Arkansas University Tech's Practical Nursing program of Nursing. The program is offered once per year. It is 11 months in length and combines classroom instruction with skills lab, simulation labs, and clinical practicum experience to prepare students for the licensure exam and a successful and rewarding career in nursing. Graduates of the program earn a Technical Certificate in Practical Nursing. The program graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). SAU Tech's Nursing Graduates for 2019 had a state licensure exam pass rate of 100 per cent!

Southern Arkansas University Tech is a two-year public college that is part of the Southern Arkansas University System. The College began in 1968 and today has an average enrollment of over 1,800 students. Southern Arkansas University Tech offers NJCAA basketball and softball and provides students with housing options and full student life. Cheerleading, the Tech Scholars Program and the Tech Choir are all options for SAU Tech’s students. Southern Arkansas University Tech employs around 160 staff and faculty and is located inside Highland Industrial Park in East Camden, Arkansas.
