Among more than 1,800 higher-learning institutes in China, SEU is one of the oldest and top 20 for its more than a century’s academic excellence and whole-person education. 34 of its schools and departments offer 64 Bachelor’s, 210 Master’s and 112 Ph. The Department of Historic Building Conservation was established in 2012. School of Civil & Architecture Engineering has a history of more than 30 years, in which a characteristic talent-cultivation system in the field of Geotechnical Engineering and Aseismic Structures has been achieving. Four Master's Degree programs, including Civil Engineering, Geological Resources, and Geological Engineering, Civil and Hydraulic Engineering, Geological Engineering, have been granted. Human Geography and Urban-Rural Planning Major: This major was established in 2012, formerly known as "Resources Environment and Urban-Rural Planning Management", and was renamed in 2013. Starting in 2013, it will enroll 60 students for each grade, and the school system will be four years. There are currently 11 full-time teachers, with laboratories that meet the teaching needs and relatively advanced equipment; the teaching effect is obvious, and several characteristic directions such as surveying, planning and mapping, and geography teaching have been basically formed; the development process of cities around our province and prefecture Accelerated, the development of industries such as real estate, construction, and planning and mapping has provided graduates with a large number of employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. Founded in October 1980, the Department of Architectural Engineering is one of the earliest established departments in Heifei University. The department offers five undergraduate specialties: Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Management, Transportation Engineering, and Civil Engineering (2+3). It has over 1,600 students and 46 faculty members, including four professors and 14 associate professors. There are two research centers in the department: Institute of Civil Engineering Management and Institute of Building Physics and Energy Conservation (Sino-German joint construction), for engineering designing and consulting as well as related research projects. The Experimental Centre of the department consists of 15 laboratories: Civil Engineering Measurement, Civil Engineering Materials, Engineering Mechanics, Soil Mechanics, Architectural Structure, Road Engineering, Engineering Geology, Architectural Physic, Architectural Model, Architectural Electrics and Equipment, Digital simulation technology of structural engineering, Architecture Innovation, Transportation Engineering, Hydromechanics, and Engineering Management. The fixed asset in labs has amounted to more than 1.6 million yuan, and many advanced facilities are imported from Germany. Under a joint construction program, the department was built with the help of the German University of Applied Sciences. Because of the agreement signed by Anhui Province and Lower Saxony in Germany inMarch,1985, the department has academic ties with a number of universities in Lower Saxony. In 2006, the department established the specialty of Civil Engineering (2+3)according to another agreement with Hildesheim University of Applied Sciences, achieving the goal of training undergraduates through Sino-German cooperation. Since then, about 60 students have been studying in Germany for a bachelor’s or a master's degree.

Bachelor of Architecture

Throughout the Master International Design Strategy / China Studio students will learn to decipher the local behaviors and understand the Chinese market to offer a coherent project, adapted to users, with an anthropological approach to design. This program is a stepping stone to an international designer career.

We aim to cultivate students who have solid theoretical foundation and excellent research ability, and based on the Chinese culture foundation and international perspective, have a strong ability to combined sensibility and rationality, science and art to adapt to the modern design requirements and future design current, able to engage in research, teaching and management works in related fields of art and design.

The course involves the use of modern and environment-friendly technologies to create comfortable and efficient indoor environments. You will apply your skills to design energy-efficient buildings incorporating renewable energy, green architecture, ventilation, lighting, acoustics, and electrical/control systems.

The course provides an open and holistic education in architecture aiming to form the next generation of architects and design thinkers to create better and inspiring built environments. The programme is designed to encourage creativity and innovation while responding to the professional requirements of architectural education.

Objective: grasp the theories of Marxism and establish a scientific world outlook, adhere to the basic lines of the Party, love the motherland, abide the law, form a good character, behave honestly and trustworthy, strictly and cooperatively, and maintain good research ethics and professionalism.

The course is studied over one academic year of 12 months. 60 credits of modules are studied in the autumn, and 60 credits of modules are studied in the spring semester. A research project is undertaken in the summer semester, also worth 60 credits.
