The Master of Science in Biotechnology and Artificial Intelligence is a pioneering program created by SupBiotech in collaboration with EPITA (School of Engineering and Computer Science) and ESME (Special School of Mechanics and Electricity). This two-year program is designed to train future experts in bioinformatics and artificial intelligence (AI) at the Master’s level (ECTS equivalent).


We marvel at artificial intelligence’s ability to generate stunning visuals and videos in the blink of an eye. We stand in awe as it emulates history’s greatest writers. We are captivated when it responds to us, becoming one of our most valuable allies both at work and in our daily lives. In countless ways, artificial intelligence has transformed our society. The field of biotechnology is no exception. In fact, it stands at the forefront of this revolution.

The Master of Science (MSc) in Biotechnology and Artificial Intelligence, developed through a partnership between EPITA and ESME – two of France’s leading engineering schools – trains future bioinformatics experts through a multidisciplinary approach. The mission: to empower graduates to push the boundaries of innovation by combining biology with cutting-edge technologies.  The curriculum is carefully structured to enhance both technical and professional skills, with all courses and conferences delivered in English. Students benefit from hands-on cross-disciplinary projects and a long-term internship at the end of the first year. This program equips students with:

  • Expertise in using AI to process and analyze massive and complex biological datasets.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the role of AI and bioinformatics in modern biotechnology.
  • The professional acumen needed for seamless integration into the workforce, supported by work-study opportunities.
  • Managerial and transversal skills to lead specialized teams in biotechnology.

Graduates of this Master’s program are prepared to tackle current and emerging challenges in biotechnology by leveraging AI in critical areas such as medical research, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and the pharmaceutical industry. First Year – MSc 1  Exploring the World of Bioinformatics: Understanding Core Challenges and Opportunities  This first year lays a strong foundation in biology, computer science, and biotechnology while encouraging curiosity and critical thinking. It also explores  the ethical challenges of artificial intelligence in biotech, equipping students with a responsible and informed approach to these technologies.   For many, this year also marks the beginning of their apprenticeship, providing a first glimpse into corporate life and its challenges.   Second Year – MSc 2 Advancing Professional Expertise The second and final year strengthens students’ expertise through advanced coursework in AI, bioinformatics, and biotechnology applications.  Specialized courses on machine learning, deep learning, and biotechnology applications — combined with hands-on hackathons — prepare participants for real-world challenges. The program continues to emphasize the ethical considerations of AI, ensuring that graduates not only develop technical expertise but also a deep understanding of its moral implications. By graduation, our goal is to have cultivated a new generation of experts equipped with a holistic understanding of AI applications in biotechnology. Blending theory and practice From analyzing massive and heterogeneous biological data to interpreting them, from ethical challenges to mastering essential tools: students will acquire both the practical skills and fundamental theoretical knowledge required to successfully apply AI in biotechnology.  This apprenticeship, in partnership with CFA LEEM, allows participants to immediately apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting, creating a dynamic educational synergy. Beyond gaining hands-on industry experience, this approach provides a strong competitive advantage for their résumés.



Informations sur l'Université

Le programme de SupBiotech est un équilibre pluridisciplinaire entre les cours de sciences et d'ingénierie (cours magistraux, travaux pratiques en laboratoire et projets), les compétences en gestion et le savoir-faire industriel. Nos étudiants apprennent également à connaître les marchés de la biotechnologie nationaux et internationaux. Les professeurs de SupBiotech proviennent de formations et de parcours éducatifs divers, tels que des universités, des centres de recherche et l'industrie. L'anglais est utilisé tout au long de notre programme ; nos cours de master sont dispensés en anglais à partir de la troisième année. Les étudiants de SupBiotech sont préparés à une large gamme de responsabilités dans diverses entreprises de biotechnologie et multinationales, travaillant dans les domaines de la santé, des cosmétiques, de l'environnement, des produits pharmaceutiques et de l'agroalimentaire.

SupBiotech est une école spécialisée en biotechnologie qui propose un cursus innovant d'une durée de 5 ans après le baccalauréat. L'école est proche à la fois du monde de la recherche scientifique et du monde de l'entreprise et a signé des partenariats avec des universités à l'échelle mondiale. Les diplômés accèdent rapidement à des postes de responsabilité tant en France qu'à l'étranger dans des domaines tels que la santé et les produits pharmaceutiques, l'innovation en transformation alimentaire, les cosmétiques, la bioinformatique ou l'environnement. Les études, combinant fondamentaux académiques, projets étudiants et stages, sont divisées en deux parties selon les normes européennes : le cycle préparatoire (2 ans) et le cycle ingénieur (3 ans). Le programme d'ingénierie en biotechnologie de SupBiotech est accrédité par Medicen Paris Région et Industries et Agro-Resources (I.A.R.). SupBiotech propose également un programme d'apprentissage à partir du niveau baccalauréat, ainsi qu'un diplôme de Bachelor en biotechnologie, accessible après le baccalauréat.

Conditions d'admission

The program welcomes students holding Bac+3 or Bac+4, with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Engineering, or any other scientific discipline, who wish to specialize in applying AI to Life Sciences. This program offers a transformative educational experience, blending innovation, technology, and hands-on learning to prepare students for leadership roles in this dynamic field.
